All This Time

So this is what I was talking about yesterday when I brogged about my I AM THE MAN idea, for those of you still on the adamjosh.com internet tour bus.

I actually wrote this song in December of 2007. Here's the original demo version that I recorded on my home computer - All This Time.

Back then the Tama was in storage, so the drum track you hear on the older version was created with Fruity Loops, something I wasn't exactly thrilled about, seeing as how it would have been easier and less time consuming for me to play the drum track live. But I did keep in mind to write something I could realistically play later. And I also tried to make the Fruity Loops kit sound "real".

So here's the 2012 jam studio version, with me playing all the parts live. I may take another go at it when my keyboard gets here. Between you and me, I'd like to write a better bass line and re-record it anyway.

Lost and down, waiting for you to set me free.
I never knew you were there waiting just for me.
Okay lets try, okay lets take on our enemies.
Beating them down, forcing them all on their knees.

All this time, we've fought the force that made us flee.
All this time, we've fought the force that makes us bleed.
All this time.

Where do we go, what do we do with all this strife?
We'll never give in, never give up - take our lives.
All this time, you thought that we could never be.
We'll show them all how this true love can really be.
All this time.
